The Defra group leads on a range of issues that profoundly impact the lives of people in the UK. These includes the food we eat, the air we breathe and the water we drink. Defra’s policies span everything from supporting the rural economy to the protection of our environment from natural threats and hazards. Defra is one of the departments most affected by the UK’s exit from the EU. As the country prepares to do this, some 1,200 pieces of rural and environmental legislation are estimated to require amending. This has a direct impact on the group Commercial function and provides us with an exciting opportunity to successfully support EU Exit related projects across the group. Join our team and your work will help to shape the future of the environment, the countryside, the rural economy, the food and farming sectors and support the delivery of a successful EU Exit.

There has never been a more exciting time to join Defra group Commercial. EU Exit will fundamentally change the way we deliver our work. By joining us and becoming one of our Commercial Advisers or Category Managers you will be required to provide innovative commercial solutions, advice and excellent contract management across a wide stakeholder network. It will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure. You will be required to deliver modern procurement and contract management approaches, maintain and improve stakeholder and supplier relationships and deliver contract value across a diverse and complex network.

We have a number of opportunities and each one requires you to guarantee that best practice commercial principles are applied, that value for money is delivered and effective commercial solutions are established. Find the right one for you:
